BrandCallicrate Banders
Extra-strong amber-colored Callicrate SMART Loops, for use with the SMART Bander, are specially formulated to withstand and maintain the high tension needed for consistent results. The special latex formula is over three times stronger than comparable latex rubber. The formulation and curing of the rubber gives it the elasticity, strength and memory necessary for fail-proof application. The patented no-slip aluminum clip on the SMART loop™ should be placed ‘seam side up’ in the nose of the bander for best results.
Replacement bands for the Callicrate Bander for use in the castration bulls that are 300 to 3000 lbs. The prolapse loop is used for removing uterine prolapses when the tissue is damaged beyond surgical repair. Bands and loops are made of durable latex and have aluminum clips that secure the band in place to eliminate slippage. Features a patented clip that locks the loop in place while allowing a custom fit for each animal. This product can be used to castrate any sized animal (300 to 3,000 lbs). The prolapse bands are larger than the castrate bands to allow a prolapsed uterus to be removed when the uterus is too damaged to be replaced. There is less stress on the animal than other castration methods, allowing uninterrupted feed intake and gains.
This product has a clip that can be slipped to properly size each band and then locked in place with the included bander. Each band is made of durable latex with lubrication to ensure uniformed stretching. This product is only for the castration of animals or the removal of prolapsed uteruses. Wear safety goggles. The loops may slip from bander.
Restrain animals. Place one loop onto the included bander. Work scrotum and both testicles through the loop. Make sure both testicles are below the loop before tightening. Tighten loop until tension peg touches back of slot. Push down on crimping lever. Cut the loop as close to spool as possible using the Callicrate Cutter. It is recommended to give each animal a shot of Tetanus Toxoid after castrating (follow label instructions).
For a more detailed instruction, follow the instructions on the included video. Use one loop per animal. Scrotum should fall off in 20 to 35 days.
For a prolapsed uterus: Restrain the animal and insert the end of the prolapse loop with the clip into the nose of the bander. Place the loop around animal’s uterine prolapse and pull to remove all slack from both sides. Keep even tension on both sides. Tighten loop until tension peg touches the back of slot. Push down on crimping lever. Cut the loop as close to spool as possible using the Callicrate Cutter. The prolapse may need to be surgically removed after banding depending on the size of tissue mass. Contact your veterinarian if assistance is required. Give a shot of Tetanus Toxoid. Follow label instructions.
