- Feeding rates depend heavily on the quality of forage, activity level, age, breed, temperament and special needs of each horse.
- Changes in feed type or rate should be made gradually.
- Feeding a minimum of 1% of body weight in roughage is highly recommended.
- Fresh, clean water should be available at all times.
- Feed horses regularly, preferably two or more times daily.
- Do not feed old, moldy, or insect-infested feeds as they may cause illness, abortions or death.
- Store in a dry place.
- Equis Natural Teff takes advantage of the unique traits of teff hay, a warm season grass hay, which tends to be relatively low in NSC and calories. No molasses or added fat.
- Equis Natural Teff can replace all or part of the horse’s forage and concentrate diet. Talk to your veterinarian or a nutritionist before substituting more than 50% of the diet with any complete, pelleted feed.
- Includes Alltech® BioMOS® and Diamond V Yeast Culture® at manufacturer’s recommended levels for your horse’s digestive wellness and immune balance through nutritional excellence.
- Equis Complete features SelPlex® from Alltech® as a natural yeast derived selenium source due to the low availability of this trace mineral in some forages.
- Includes Zinpro® Performance Minerals®. Equis feeds contain complexed trace minerals including zinc, manganese and copper. These minerals may only be required in small amounts each day, but they play a critical role in numerous metabolic functions that affect the health of the horse.
