BrandMILK BAR
Features patented Milk Bar teats, which promote slow-nursing for maximum salivation and healthy digestive development. When the salivation urge is satisfied, animals are more content and they ingest enzymes and natural antibodies in the saliva without choking or guzzling. It is natural for lambs and kids to nurse slowly so that the milk bypasses the rumen and enters the abomasum where digestive enzymes break down the curd for digestion. The natural antibiotic properties of saliva are lambs' and kids' first defense against infection. Saliva contains digestive enzymes for proper digestion and best nutrient absorption. Saliva introduces the proper pH to ensure that raw milk does not enter the intestine where it can cause scours. Prevent cross-sucking – without adequate salivation, lambs and kids will suck on anything – ears, navels or unsanitary surfaces. Slow-nursing Milk Bar teats satisfy the nursing instinct and produce adequate salivation.
Feeding height should replicate nursing at the natural mother's udder. Replace nipples every 9-10 weeks. Cross-sucking is the first sign that nipples are worn and need to be replaced. Take care to place new nipples so that the slit opening is vertical. Nipples require no valves or tubes.
