Our pellets are wholesome and balanced, supporting reproductive and overall health with no need to supplement.

Feeding Directions:
Feed Purina® Layena® free-choice as the sole ration to laying chickens (including backyard egg producers, small to medium breeds and fancy and exotic breeds) after 18 weeks of age and throughout the laying cycle.
Purina® Layena® can be fed to adult female chickens of laying age.
Always provide shelter and a constant supply of fresh, clean water.
Consumption will vary depending upon season of the year, nutritional needs of the animals and availability of other foods.
Caution:
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area free from rodents and insects. Never use moldy or insect-infested feed.
Important:
A feeding program is only as effective as the management practices. Actual results can vary depending upon feed intake, environmental conditions and the quality of management practices.
100% complete daily nutrition
Purina® Layena® layer feed provides the right balance of nutrients, vitamins and minerals your backyard hens need.
Research-proven feed
Purina® has been conducting poultry research for nearly a century. We have a flock of backyard birds at the Purina Animal Nutrition Center to help our nutritionists, feed formulators and flock caregivers evaluate our feeds before we put them on the market.
Oyster Strong® System
Oyster shell, Vitamin D and manganese for strong shells. Large-particle calcium breaks down steadily, making it available during the entire egg formation process, especially at night when birds aren’t eating and eggshell development is critical.
Rich yellow yolks
Added marigold extract produces deep, yellow egg yolks.
Fertility and feathering
Enhanced with lysine, methionine amino acids and key levels of Vitamins A and D to help hens produce plenty of eggs and grow beautiful feathers.
Healthy immune system
Rich in antioxidants and optimized levels of Vitamin E. It also contains prebiotics and probiotics to support immune and digestive health.
