A low-cost protection against clostridial infections in healthy cattle and sheep, Ultrabac 8 protects your animals from infections that many times do not have overt symptoms. Protects against Clostridium chauvoei (blackleg), novyi (black disease), septicum (malignant edema), sordellii (gas gangrene), haemolyticum (red water), and perfringens Types C & D (enterotoxemia and enteritis). It may also protect against Clostridium perfringens (Type B).
For use in healthy cattle and sheep as an aid in preventing blackleg caused by Clostridium chauvoei, malignant edema caused by Cl. septicum, bacillary hemoglobinuria caused by Cl. haemolyticum, black disease caused by Cl. novyi, gas gangrene caused by CI. sordellii, and enterotoxemia and enteritis caused by Cl. perfringens Types B, C and D. Although Cl. perfringens Type B is not a significant problem in North America, immunity is provided by the beta toxoid of Type C and the epsilon toxoid of Type D. Ultrabac 8 consists of killed, standardized cultures of Cl. chauvoei, Cl. septicum, Cl. haemolyticum, Cl. novyi, Cl. sordellii, and Cl. perfringens Types C and D, with an adjuvant.
Doses:
Cattle: 5 mL SQ. Sheep: 2 1/2 per 2 mL SQ. Followed by a second dose 4-6 weeks later. 21 day slaughter hold.
- Available in 10 dose and 50 dose.
- Protection for Type B comes from the beta toxoid of Type C and the epsilon toxoid of Type D.
- Store at 35 to 45 ˚F (2 to 7 ˚C); do not freeze.
- Anaphylactic reactions may occur; treat with epinephrine for initial antidote and follow with supportive therapy.
- The broad-spectrum, two-dose system protects against diseases caused by clostridial organisms including red water.
- It’s a better choice of clostridial protection where liver flukes are a problem.
- Contains killed standardized cultures for a uniform vaccine of Clostridium chauvoei, septicum, novyi, sordellii, haemolyticum, and perfringens Types C & D with an adjuvant.
